Car accident leaves woman dead, 2 children injured

When a car crash happens, it can change a family's life in the blink of an eye. A collision that results in the loss of life or in a serious injury can devastate a family both emotionally and financially. When the crash happens because of someone else's carelessness, the tragedy is often amplified. This may be what some California families are experiencing after a recent car accident took one life and left two children seriously injured.

According to law enforcement, the crash happened on a recent late night. They say that one car failed to stop at a stop sign and subsequently struck another car traveling through the intersection. The woman driving the car that was hit died at the site of the crash. Two children in the same car were rushed to a nearby hospital where they had to have surgery to treat their injuries.

Police say that they aren't entirely sure why the first car failed to stop at the stop sign. They say that intoxicated driving was not a factor, but otherwise have offered no other possible explanations. There is no word on whether the driver was speeding or distracted at the time of the crash. Authorities haven't said whether they intend to file criminal charges against anyone in connection with the incident.

No matter what the outcome of this car accident may be, the family of the woman who was killed and the families of the two injured children have options to hold those responsible accountable for their actions. They could file a personal injury claim here in California against the driver or another party deemed responsible. A successfully-litigated claim may result in recovery of monetary damages that would be useful in covering medical bills, funeral costs or other expenses. Anyone in a similar situation may find that reaching out to an attorney is the best course of action.
