It is being reported that PG&E requested a rate hike in 2007 to cover the expense of repairing a “high risk line” which was part of the same gas line that exploded in San Bruno. PG&E never made the repairs. For more information, read the full story at:

Further, state officials awarded PG&E nearly $5 million in rate payer money to repair this line. Despite the fact that PG&E never repaired that line, PG&E is now seeking another $5 million to make the repairs.
